Or perhaps you need help or direction as to whether or not there would be a return from having a site. Glic I.T. can guide you through this process.At each stage of development, Glic I.T. will work closely with you, providing regular status updates, and more importantly, involving you in decision making. Remember, it is your site, not Glic I.T.’s.

It can be something as simple as updating a phone number or as complex as rebuilding from scratch.Perhaps you would like to have your site reconfigured such that you can make basic changes to the content yourself without having to rely on a webmaster.

Getting a second opinion can be helpful and reassuring in all aspects of life – we all want to be sure that the doctor has diagnosed an ailment correctly or that the car mechanic is not overcharging.The same applies to websites. Glic I.T. can assess the work a 3rd party is doing, or has done, for you and suggest any improvements. While the site may look fine to you, there may be errors in the underlying code or structure that requires a degree of technical knowledge to uncover.
Note: Even if Glic I.T. is building a site for you, the recommendation to have that worked checked still applies – we are all human and make mistakes.
Train

Before you ask, no, Glic I.T. will not teach you how to use a web browser or send an email attachment. However, Glic I.T. will provide tailored training in advanced Internet usage to enable you get the best from your web-presence.This could be a seminar or hands-on session to bring you up to speed on the newest social networking concepts and technologies, or advanced training in HTML and scripting languages.
Training can be given at your own premises or should you rather avoid the risk of being distracted, in the training facility at the Johnstown Business Centre.

Glic I.T. is an unashamedly evangelical supporter of WordPress as a blogging platform. Having used others over the years, Glic I.T. has found none that come close in usability, adaptability or functionality.

WordPress install/upgrade
WordPress install
WordPress is not overly difficult to install and excellent step-by-step tutorials are available on WordPress.org and elsewhere. In addition, many hosting providers offer one-click WordPress installation via the control panel.However, where the host does not offer this service, novices may find such tasks as creating a database or editing a PHP file a little daunting. Not only can Glic I.T. can handle the install and setup for you, but also help select and activate suitable themes and plugins.

Novice users may find upgrading equally daunting or have a fear of breaking something. And yes, this can happen. However, Glic I.T. can allay your worries a number of ways e.g. modify broken plugins or install an alternative, or in the worst case, roll everything back until such time as an upgrade can be guaranteed to be successful. NB: It is best to contact Glic I.T. before you upgrade as fixing problems later may prove costly especially if no backups were made.
In most cases it is known in advance what issues are likely to be met thanks to the pre-release documentation published by the WordPress and plugin developers. Glic I.T. can undertake this research on your behalf.

Move Host
Moving host entails all that goes with WordPress installation but also migrating posts and pages. Plus the need to move themes and plugins and their settings to the new database.As with installation, very useful help files and tutorials are available online. However, if you are uncomfortable doing the work yourself, Glic I.T. can step in.

One of the truly fantastic features of WordPress is that, being totally open source, anyone can modify the underlining code to achieve the look and functionality they need.Perhaps you would like certain pages to behave differently or to hide certain information or display additional detail.
